Peter Rudofski

Peter Rudofski testified for the State about the full and condensed timelines he compiled for June 7, 2021. He combined phone extractions, carrier records, FBI telemetry and CAST materials, GM OnStar records, and other investigative sources. The CAST presentation incorporated detailed GM data supplied during trial after an earlier inquiry had produced only subscriber information.

His direct testimony traced the Suburban's travel among Moselle, Hampton, and Almeda, placing its return to the kennels at 10:05:57 and the 911 call at 10:06:14. He also identified the kennel-video period, the approximate times Paul and Maggie's phones became locked, later activity recorded by Maggie's phone, elevated estimated step activity on Alex Murdaugh's phone from about 9:02 to 9:06, and calls appearing in carrier records but absent from extracted call logs.

Defense questioning tested omissions and the limits of the compiled data. Rudofski acknowledged that the timeline omitted an 8:54 camera-access event, that he had not determined its cause, and that he could not explain certain orientation and movement data. He also agreed that the mapped vehicle route showed no visible detour and was consistent with Murdaugh's interviews.

On redirect, Rudofski explained that a driveway pause affected the calculated average speed for the return from Almeda and emphasized that his role was to combine records from multiple sources rather than provide expert explanations for every recorded event. On recross, he acknowledged that the data could not establish whether a peak speed resulted from passing another vehicle, why Paul's phone display activated, or whether Alex Murdaugh was walking at that exact moment.
