Ryan Neill

SLED Captain Ryan Neill participated in investigative coordination and evidence handling described at trial. Witnesses connected him to a scene walkthrough and multi-agency briefing, the collection and custody of Maggie Murdaugh's phone, the transfer of another unidentified iPhone, consultation before agents secured shell casings, and the decision not to process a tarp.

Neill was also named in a defense challenge to the investigation. John Marvin Murdaugh attributed to him a secondhand account that Alex Murdaugh's white shirt was covered in blood and that body-camera footage showed Alex wiping his face with it. The State responded that the jury had heard no supporting blood evidence about the shirt and that no accompanying reports had been offered.
